In WHO do you put your HOPE?

My HOPE is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness!

I’ve been thinking a lot about HOPE this week, and how we are ALL in desperate need of a Rescuer, a Hero, a Deliverer…a Savior

Many voted last week for who they thought could save them.

When we put our hope in a broken person, we will ALWAYS be disappointed and let down.

I love my wife - if she wasn’t foreign born, she’d make a great president! I’d vote for her! She is honorable, dependable and all around amazing! But if I put my hope in her, I will be disappointed (not as much as she’d be in me, mind you) but disappointed, nonetheless.

Who do you put your hope in?

Think of the greatest people you know - Your spouse, your kids, your mom or dad, your boss or teacher - we don’t readily admit it, or even notice it, but we look for others to rescue us. To be our hero.

I don't get it, but some even put their hope in a sports team. Have the Padres ever let you down?

Maybe it’s in a celebrity, or preacher or another leader?

Maybe you think that you can save yourself?

We are always looking for for a Savior to rescue us. Now, watching the reactions this week made me sad…. but as a Christian, I was greatly encouraged - not because of the outcome of the election, or to see people hurting and afraid - but to see how it is SO ENGRAINED in our nature to need a Savior.

It is not IF we need a Savior - but WHO we look to for saving!

Even if people don’t realize, or admit it - people are longing for, craving for someone to rescue them.

Trump won’t save you anymore than Hillary won’t save you. A president, or leader won’t save you!

The reactions I saw this week were of people coming face to face with the empty reality that no one was coming to save them. There was fear, grief, blame…hopelessness!

It is our job as CHRIST FOLLOWERS to point people to the light in the darkness, hope for the hopeless,

Christ ALONE is our hope, our rescue, our Savior. There is only ONE TRUE HERO in this story, and He is the HOPE for all.

I lift my eyes up to the mountains - where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD - Maker of heaven and earth! Psalm 121:1-2
