29 weeks of Messy Church? Check!

Our "Messy Church" series concluded this past Sunday and we think that is something to celebrate! No, we are not celebrating that the series is over. =) Rather, we can celebrate the accomplishment of taking time to read, study, discuss and learn from a whole book of the Bible! Why did we take the time to do that? Three reasons! We feel that our in-depth study of the Apost...

Spare Change for God?

Followers of Jesus follow Jesus. They do what He did. It was Jesus who, even ". . . though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." - 2 Corinthians 8.9Followers of Jesus don't just talk about Jesus, or sing about Jesus, or study about Jesus, they follow Him. Last Sunday we talked together about following Him in our...

A Reminder...

We studied 1 Corinthians 16:1-4 together this past Sunday. Here's a reminder about one of the principles we learned: We are to figure out what we will give and set it aside BEFORE coming to church each Sunday. Be sure to make that a consistent part of your walk with God!...

Refresh and Church Plant!

Why are we refreshing our church campus? First and foremost, we want our campus to befresh, attractive, and relevantto the unreached people in our community who we want to see come to know Jesus. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9.22, "I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some."Secondly, we desire to be good stewards of the campus Go...

More Good News!

More progress...motivated by a trip to the playroom at the hospital, Trevor tried walking for the first time since his accident...and he's been motoring around easily and pain free since! Also, the doctors started the ball rolling towards discharging him, meeting with a physical therapist first, but we're hoping to bring him home this afternoon!...

Coming home soon...

Well, Trevor is not coming home tonight... got too late to be discharged. Kind of a bummer but of course we are glad he's getting great care and only want to leave when Docs are ready to let him go. Trevor has 3 pelvic fractures and isn't able to stand very comfortably yet. I will be home with Kaylin. Please pray that Amy and Trevor will get good rest tonight. Thanks! Mo...

Trevor Update

Ortho doctors cleared Trevor to stand, walk, bear weight, etc as tolerated. So far he did stand on his own but felt too sore/unsure to attempt walking. Assuming nothing changes and he continues to keep food down, there is a possibility he could be discharged this evening! Thanks yet again for all your love, support, and prayers... it is all felt and appreciated. Derek...

Praise God!

Praise God! Doctors see no need to do another CT scan because of his positive symptoms! He is still somewhat uncomfortable and wanting to go home - but is doing pretty well otherwise. They will continue to monitor things today and we still need to hear the latest findings and plans from the ortho doctors. We thank GOD for his apparent progress toward recovery. And than...

Update on Trevor Olson

Amy stayed at the hospital last night and Derek came home and spent some time with Kaylin this morning before she went to school. Trevor continues to be physically well and is responding well to periodic neuro tests. He is laughing at cartoons, making jokes, eating some breakfast, being his normal cute self! Still good reports from docs and continued monitoring today. We ...

A note from Pastor Derek

A note from Pastor Derek... He is resting well in ICU tonight... they kept him here for observation. Docs feel that further bleeding near his brain is unlikely but they are monitoring closely. Scans and x-rays to this point reveal only minor/small pelvic fractures that should not cause any long-term problems. While it's hard not to be scared, we are trusting our good and ...

Pray for Trevor Olson

Today Trevor Olson, 4yr old son of Derek and Amy Olson, suffered a severe fall. He was trying to look out a window when the screen gave way. He fell two stories to the sidewalk below. He was rushed to Children's Hospital. He is doing better than expected. Praise GOD! The CT scan showed possible small amounts of blood in or near the brain - but neuro doc thinks it is o...
