SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES
1st - 6th grade are invited to join their parents in the worship center for worship. We welcome this time to model what joy-filled worship and fellowship looks like to our kids.
All students, 1st-6th grade are invited to join their peers for a time of energetic worship followed by teaching within two age groups: 1st-3rd and 4th-6th. All classes are taught through the lens of, “Show Them Jesus”. The Old Testament passages are taught with a connection to the New Testament and a focus on the Gospel so the students will see the Bible as God’s love story and His plan to bring each person back to Him through the life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus.
1st-3rd grade classes approach the study of the Bible chronologically. Through puppetry, games, and really digging into God's Word, kids can see how our amazing God, through time has continually pursued a relationship with people. We strive toward grace-based, gospel-focused kids' ministry.
4th- 6th grade: Teaching for this age group focuses on using the Bible to help the students understand and navigate their world. Teaching may focus on one particular book of the Bible, align with the sermon series or it may focus on a topic. We hope through teaching, the students will hear God’s voice through prayer and study of God’s word, and participate in a church community that they will be transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Parents, please meet your students at their classroom after service so they may be dismissed.
For All Parents of Elementary Students: If you are looking for a good devotional resource, let us recommend the following titles by Sally Michael: God’s Names, God’s Providence, God’s Wisdom, God’s Promise. These amazing books are available online through Christian Book Distributors. They are designed to be read with your children and include discussion questions and a small project at the end of each session. They are especially ideal for home school families looking for a Bible curriculum.
We have amazing volunteers. Our volunteers range from high school students to moms and dads with elementary age kids, to retirees. They bring their love for Jesus, passion for teaching kids, and a wealth of life experiences.
All of our volunteers must consent to background checks and have established Paseo del Rey Church as their home church for a minimum of six months.
